Established in 1885, Remy Pannier has more than 100 years experience in quality wine making. One of the most prolific Loire wineries, it now has eight state-of-the-art locations throughout the region, including premier districts Anjou and Touraine.
Known for crisp Muscadet, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc and delicate Rosé – the top selling French blush wine in the LCBO – Remy Pannier’s wines are elegant, graceful and food friendly.
Loire Valley
Known as the Garden of France, the Loire is famous for gorgeously maintained flowers gardens and, of course, immaculate vineyards. With more ancient castles than you can shake a grape vine at, the majority of the breathtaking region is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The world-class wines get their delicacy and mineral edge from the unique soil known as Kimmeridgian soil. An ancient seabed, the vineyards are full of limestone, flint, chalk and clay… as well as fossilized sea shell. All of that is to say Loire wines – most famously Sauvignon Blanc, but also racy rosés and crisp Muscadet (perfect with oysters, of course) – have a flinty, stoney character, and often a pleasing saline savouriness.
