This whole month Thirsty Thursday is inspired by Valentine’s Day. And why not? What sparks amour faster than a stiff cocktail?
With a wish list of drinks the colour of crimson, dotted with flirty bubbles, and a saucy yet sophisticated blend of sweet and bitter, all the boxes had to be ticked to make V-Day drinks we would absolutely fall in love with.
We came up with what we think are temptingly tasty and superbly easy to make tipples. Why waste all your romance time behind the bar when you can be snuggled next to your paramour sipping these love potions?
When we first saw this recipe on The Kitchn, we have to admit, it looked a bit gross. However, being ardent believers in “do one thing everyday that scares you,” coupled with being emboldened from previous sparkling cocktails, we set out to see if this would be as good as the original author claimed. It was.
- 1 oz Campari
- .5 oz Gin
- .5 oz Grand Marnier
- 6 oz sparkling wine
In a shaker filled with ice, combine liquors and shake til chilled. Strain into a flute glass and top with bubbly.
