This whole month Thirsty Thursday is inspired by Valentine’s Day. And why not? What sparks amour faster than a stiff cocktail?
With a wish list of drinks the colour of crimson, dotted with flirty bubbles, and a saucy yet sophisticated blend of sweet and bitter, all the boxes had to be ticked to make V-Day drinks we would absolutely fall in love with.
We came up with what we think are temptingly tasty and superbly easy to make tipples. Why waste all your romance time behind the bar when you can be snuggled next to your paramour sipping these love potions?
Taking our cues from the classic and elegant Kir Royale – a beautiful French mix of sparkling wine and a splash of creme de cassis, we opted to Valentine’s this tipple up a bit by using local raspberry liqueur from Niagara. Giving a charge of crimson to focused, energetic bubbles, it’s like Cupid’s Bow striking you right in the kisser.
Raspberry Royale
- 1 oz. Southbrook Raspberry Framboise
- 5oz. sparkling wine
Pour Framboise in the bottom of a champagne flute, top with bubbly
