A.

Can you decant white wine?

Q.

This is a free country and you’re an adult, so you can decant anything you’d like.

But absolutely, yes, you can  – and in many cases – should decant white wine. As we discussed a few weeks ago, decanting helps to aerate the wine, meaning allow oxygen to mix with the liquid and help it “open up” or release aromas and flavours. And last we checked white wine has both.

Also there are some stunningly beautiful white wine decanters, made to be placed in ice buckets (or an empty bucket if the wine just came out of a zero degree fridge), which also allows for temperature control, and is always a huge plus.
