A stunningly beautiful bottle .. which always makes us wonder where the investment went when we’re dealing with a wine that barely eeks into the double digit price tag. Happy to be proven wrong in this case, as this is a great value wine that drinks well above it’s price point. Look for aromas of ripe black cherry, spice, chocolate, and a smokey -toasty note. Medium bodied on the palate with flavours of pomegranate, tobacco, dark chocolate, cassis and black cherry. Fine tannins and bright acidity with tart cranberry finish. This is a soul warming red for the blustery days ahead, and offers nice value. A hot finish knocks down the score a bit, but the price tag makes up for it. Pair this with barbecued ribs, lamb tagine, or ratatouille.
