We’ve started a new thing here on our blog.
While we are firmly now, and will remain, The Wine Sisters, we’ve also been known to indulge in a cocktail or two (or five). In fact, you’ll often see Erin’s cocktail musings over on theloop.ca as the resident wine and drinks writer. So, we think it’s a good a time as any to begin a weekly Happy Hour series, featuring some of the delicious libations we pour for ourselves at noon 5pm.
This week we’re showcasing Hennessy, a gorgeous cognac that we like to sip solo, but for those just wading into the single shot arena, straight sippers maybe a bit too much; luckily these simple recipes add a little smoky flair to perk up your afternoon – and offer a great intro to hard liquor.
Pour Hennessy cognac into highball glass. Add cubed ice (fill the glass), top with high quality unfiltered apple juice. Garnish with freshly sliced apple.
