Cuvée Weekend is Here!

You may have thought awards season wraps up with the Oscars, but it’s not over yet!

Cuvée 2012 is here — and it’s the biggest celebratory weekend in the Ontario wine industry as it celebrates the best and brightest in local wine making.

The weekend kicks off with tonight’s gala awards ceremony at Fallsview Casino, where 64 wineries will vie for a shopping list of awards including Best Red, Best White & Best Dessert wine.  The wines were all judged back in January by a team winemakers, who are essentially rating themselves and their colleagues in blind tastings.

If you haven’t bought a ticket to tonight’s soiree, there’s still plenty to do over the next few days.  For $30, you can purchase a ticket to Cuvée en Route – a weekend-long touring and tastingparty that will have 45 wineries open their doors to ticket holder to pour free tasting flights of award winning wines, with exclusive opportunities to buy the award winning wines directly from the wineries themselves.

Ticket holders also have access to seven restaurants throughout Niagara which are featuring special Cuvée menus and pricing.

While there’s something exciting going on in Niagara all the time, this is a fabulous — and affordable — chance to experience all that Ontario wines have to offer.  The wines are world class, the food is exceptional, and the people who work in the local wine and food industry are passionate and inspiring.
